3-D Flower Happy Birthday Card

Just when it was starting to feel like spring, we got snow dumped on us last night.  It is a beautiful snow though and the girls are enjoying sledding this morning since there is no school today. 

I'm ready to move my card making to spring though, so here's a fun card made with the Spring Fever Simply Scrappin' Kit.

Don't you just love the 3-D look of the flower?  I used a bone folder to curl the petals and sponged Melon Mambo ink onto the edges to give the flower more dimension.

This Card Looks Good Enough to Eat!

Oh my.  How yummy do those look?  This is the Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab World blog and it has me just drooling.  Thankfully paper has no calories... well it might, but I don't plan on eating it.  Anyway, I was inspired by the colors and layout of these little yummies, as well as the little sprinkles on top.  Here's what I made...

I added texture to the Early Espresso card stock so that it would look "cakey" and sprinkled a few little pearls on top.

Elegant Birthday Card

Do you ever sit down with a great idea for a card and it just doesn't come out the way you want it to?  That happened to me yesterday.  I just couldn't get the layout and colors of the card to work the way I wanted to.  So I took a break, checked my email and came across the Monday Makeover Challenge.  The layout so inspired me that I made this card in just minutes...

Polar Bear Christmas OR Birthday Card

The Polar Party stamp set has a Christmas sentiment, yet the polar bear and penguin stamps could be used for any winter occasion.  I sent this as a Christmas card, but it would also work as a Birthday card for a winter birthday.

Fun & Simple Happy Birthday Card

Yesterday I shared my least favorite card from my stamping fun on Sunday, so today I thought I would share my favorite card!  It's just so fun in it's simplicity.  I love this card so much I'm linking it up to the Not Just a Housewife Linky Party today!

A Manly Birthday Card

My friend Ginny came over today and brought some cards to show me what she's been making lately.  This was my absolute favorite!

It's one of those "manly cards" that really is MANLY!  No frills on this one.  She used the Tea Stain ink from the Distressing Essentials Kit to age the Whisper White card stock circle and base card.  I love it!

A Birthday Card for a Man

Coming up with manly card ideas can always be a challenge.  I've had the Totally Tool stamp set for awhile now, but never used it because the sayings just didn't fit what I needed a card for. Then I had a "duh" moment and realized I could just use the tool images by themselves!

Stamps: Totally Tool stamp set and Word Play stamp set

Ink: Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pads

Card stock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake

Accessories: 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Stamping Sponges, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals, Silver Mini Brads (look like nail heads!), Neutrals 5/16 Inch Brads

As you can see from the image of the stamp set above, the words in the Totally Tool stamp set don't really say "Happy Birthday".  It is nice that the words are far enough away from the tools on the stamps that it is easy to ink them up with an ink pad without inking the words too.
