Recycled Box Card

My girls often get Fruit Snacks as gifts and I always find the boxes too cute to simply throw in the recycle bin.

Since the Scallop Square die for the Big Shot is clear, you can move the box around on the die and cut out exactly the part that you want.  I then mounted the scallop square onto a square card:

 
To cover the Assorted Fruit Flavored Snacks logo in the bottom corner, I simply added a greeting layered on a Scallop Circle.

Inspiration from The Children's Place

I saw this ad and immediately had an idea for a card.

Here's what I came up with...

Stamps: Inspired by Nature stamp set

Ink: Pixie Pink Classic Pad

Paper: Whisper White and Pixie Pink card stock

Accessories:  Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, mini glue dots

You might have overlooked the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die because it is hidden on the bottom of page 24 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.  It cuts out the butterflies and embosses them at the same time!

Corduroy Button Flower

I have been having a lot of fun playing with the corduroy buttons lately.  On this card, I sewed one on as the center of a 3-D flower.

In the next photo, you can see the dimension.  I punched out 3 sets of "petals" with the Scallop Circle punch and then used my Paper Snipsto cut a slit in between each scallop.  Then I used a little SNAIL adhesive to tape the centers together, added the button and sewed all the layers together with Linen Thread.  Finally, I used dimensionals to attach the flower to my card.

Tote-ally Tess Valentine

Double Pocket Card

Ink: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink and Real Red Classic Pads

Paper: Sending Love Specialty Paper; Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink and Real Red card stock

Accessories: Tag corner punch, bone folder, blender pen, mini glue dots, Small Heart punch

I HAD to have The More the Merrier stamp set when I saw those cupcakes, but the other images have proved to be very fun and useful too.  You can't purchase this stamp set, but you can earn it for FREE when you host a Stampin' Up! workshop of $500 or more.  It's easy to do during Sale-A-Bration when guests get to pick a free item with EACH $50 purchase. 

What is a workshop?  It's a gathering of friends where each guest gets to make 2 projects and try out Stampin' Up!'s great products.  I've got a few dates available in March, so contact me to schedule your workshop before the end of Sale-A-Bration! 

Digital Valentine Card

I made this Valentine card in My Digital Studio.  To create the 3-D hearts on the bottom, I used the same stamp that says 'happy valentine's day'.  I copied it twice and changed the color of one to be Whisper White.  Because you can layer in My Digital Studio, I layered the stamps on top of each other to create the 3-D effect.  To cover up the rest of the stamp, I added a card stock layer of Chocolate Chip and placed it over the words.  There is also a zig-zag stitch over the Real Red grosgrain ribbon.

My Digital Studio Seminar

A regional My Digital Studio Seminar for both area demonstrators and customers will be held at Maranatha College in Watertown, WI, on February 27th, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

There will be multiple samples of completed projects to view and handle as well as "hybrid" projects, combining traditional scrapbooking and stamping methods with the computer.

Topics we will cover include all the basic maneuvering in the program as well as:

* how to receive automatic upgrades and updates
* how to carry a project through all the way to printing
* things to watch for while designing your project
* unique ways to use the projects you create
* creating JPEGs for use in your blog, advertising and personal use
* how to order multiples of the same page or project
* creating projects for hybrid uses
* guidelines for selling projects made with MDS
* how to purchase and install downloads correctly
* how to check a project for errors and spelling
* question and answer period at the end
* one free Make N Take hybrid project

The fee for the seminar is just $15 per person paid in advance by February 20th, or $20 after that. The fee is non-refundable if you cancel after the 20th. Buffet lunch through the excellent catering service of the college is included in the price. Free coffee and a
breakfast snack will be available in the morning. Parking is free and the building is handicap accessible, with the restrooms right next door to our classroom.

If possible, please bring your laptop with the MDS software fully installed. You do not have to have a laptop to attend, however.
