On Board Heart Book

Yes, I actually made a BOOK with my On Board Heart Book! 

Donnie, If you are reading this STOP now, or you will ruin your Valentine surprise.

I started making this book last Saturday using this week's Color Challenge for Create with Connie and Julie: Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.  Then I realized that to enter the challenge I have to post pictures BEFORE I give the book to my hubby for Valentine's Day.

So, I waited until the last minute to post and just in case he sees this... which thanks to Facebook he probably will and you can become a Facebook Fan too... it is not the finished product.  I plan to do some hand written notes and perhaps a photo or two to personalize it.

I used a bunch of different stamp sets for the words and images, the colors listed above in the Color Challenge and the Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper Pad that you can choose as your free Sale-A-Bration item with a $50 purchase.

Do Not Disturb Sign... and WIN a On Board Heart Book!

I just LOVE the On Board Heart Book in the Occasions Mini Catalog. There are just so many things that you can do with it! (Check out the banner I made.)  Here's a fun little "Do Not Disturb" sign that I made with just one of the eight chipboard hearts that come in a package.

You can see that I just punched another hole with the Crop-a-Dile, threaded the ribbon through and knotted it in the back.

I HAD to have The More the Merrier stamp set when I saw those cupcakes, but the other images have proved to be very fun and useful too.  You can't purchase this stamp set, but you can earn it for FREE when you host a Stampin' Up! workshop of $500 or more.  It's easy to do during Sale-A-Bration when guests get to pick a free item with EACH $50 purchase. 

What is a workshop?  It's a gathering of friends where each guest gets to make 2 projects and try out Stampin' Up!'s great products.  I've got a few dates available in March, so contact me to schedule your workshop before the end of Sale-A-Bration! 

Digital Valentine Card

I made this Valentine card in My Digital Studio.  To create the 3-D hearts on the bottom, I used the same stamp that says 'happy valentine's day'.  I copied it twice and changed the color of one to be Whisper White.  Because you can layer in My Digital Studio, I layered the stamps on top of each other to create the 3-D effect.  To cover up the rest of the stamp, I added a card stock layer of Chocolate Chip and placed it over the words.  There is also a zig-zag stitch over the Real Red grosgrain ribbon.

My Digital Studio Seminar

A regional My Digital Studio Seminar for both area demonstrators and customers will be held at Maranatha College in Watertown, WI, on February 27th, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

There will be multiple samples of completed projects to view and handle as well as "hybrid" projects, combining traditional scrapbooking and stamping methods with the computer.

Topics we will cover include all the basic maneuvering in the program as well as:

* how to receive automatic upgrades and updates
* how to carry a project through all the way to printing
* things to watch for while designing your project
* unique ways to use the projects you create
* creating JPEGs for use in your blog, advertising and personal use
* how to order multiples of the same page or project
* creating projects for hybrid uses
* guidelines for selling projects made with MDS
* how to purchase and install downloads correctly
* how to check a project for errors and spelling
* question and answer period at the end
* one free Make N Take hybrid project

The fee for the seminar is just $15 per person paid in advance by February 20th, or $20 after that. The fee is non-refundable if you cancel after the 20th. Buffet lunch through the excellent catering service of the college is included in the price. Free coffee and a
breakfast snack will be available in the morning. Parking is free and the building is handicap accessible, with the restrooms right next door to our classroom.

If possible, please bring your laptop with the MDS software fully installed. You do not have to have a laptop to attend, however.

Valentine Chocolates

I got a HUGE box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates for Christmas, and while I love them, I just don't need to eat them all!  So, I made this cute little box that holds 3 of them with some Rose Red card stock and a wrap made with a Window Sheet.  The hearts on top were made with the NEW Heart punch in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Ink: Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad

Accessories: Heart Treat Cup, Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon, Full Heart punch, Scallop Edge punch

How to use the Heart Treat Cups:  Stamp the Heart image and then punch out center of heart image with the Full Heart punch. Insert Heart Treat Cup and fill.   Peel off adhesive cover and adhere Heart Treat Cup to a second square of Whisper White card stock to seal the cup.
