Melon Mambo card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Plaid Paper: 3″ x 5″
Basic White: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Night of Navy: 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
Basic White circles: 1-3/4″ cut with Stylish Shapes die

I’ve made several cards with this basic layout and no circles, but the patterned papers I used were beautiful and colorful on their own. You can see what I mean in this post. However, when I put this card together the plaid was just a little too boring on its own.

That’s why I decided to add 3 colorful cupcakes each in its own circle.

The circles from the Stylish Shapes dies not only cut the circles, but they also add a fun decorative stitching around the edges!

Card Making Tips:

  • Start by picking your patterned paper. If you are going to add the 3 circles on top you’ll probably want to use a pattern that’s not too bold or busy on its own.
  • Pick 3 coordinating colors to stamp your images in, or stamp them in black and color them in.
  • If you don’t have a long greeting stamp, you could extend the patterned paper and cut it to 3-3/4″ x 5″ instead of 3″ x 5″ and move your greeting to the inside.
  • Pop your middle circle up with dimensionals to highlight it.

I love how this card turned out and I hope you do too. Grab some supplies and give this card layout a try!

Happy Stamping!
