When a new annual Stampin’ Up! catalog comes out, one of the first things I do is flip to the colors to see what the 5 NEW In Colors are. Sometimes I like them, sometimes I don’t, but this year I LOVE them ALL!!!

Here are the first 5 cards that I made with the new 2021-2023 In Color Collection.

Each of the following cards started with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of card stock that was then embossed with an embossing folder to add texture and design.

Let’s start with my favorite, Polished Pink…

Polished Pink: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (embossed with the Pretty Flowers Folder)
White card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Basic Black: 1/2″ x 4″

How bright and fun is this card?!!

The NEW Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder is one that you won’t want to miss. The photo in the catalog absolutely does not do it justice. BOTH sides of your card stock will have such great details that you’ll have a hard time deciding which one to use!!

You could use any greeting you’d like to create a similar card, but for this one I chose the “Happy Birthday” from the Sweet as a Peach stamp set. It fits perfectly in one of the Tasteful Label dies and you’ll see I used that combo on a number of these cards.

I threw in a black strip of card stock because I think the black/white/pink color combo always POPS! And Rhinestones are the perfect way to finish off any card.

Next up, Pale Papaya…

Pale Papaya: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (embossed with the Animal Print Folder)
Pale Papaya card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Circle Size: 2-1/8″

Embossing is such a quick way to add interest and texture to a piece of card stock.

Add a greeting, maybe a little ribbon, and boom, you’re done.

Quick & easy card to send off in a hurry.

Next up, Fresh Freesia

Stampin’ Up! has always had a fun alliteration to the names of their colors!

Fresh Freesia: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Folder)
White card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Circle size: 2-1/8″

Can you see the difference it makes when you use a white card base versus a card base the same color as your embossed piece? Take another look at the Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia cards above to see what I mean.

I often will try both a white and colored card base behind my embossed piece to see which one I like better.

The great thing about the Layering Circles Dies is that you can use a plain circle on its own OR you can add a scalloped circle behind it.

Now we have Soft Succulent…

Soft Succulent: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (embossed with Brick & Mortar 3D Folder)
Soft Succulent card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″

All 5 of the 2021-2023 In Colors can be mixed and matched and used together.

This card has just a POP of color in the Pale Papaya flower cut with one of the Pierced Blooms dies and a Polished Pink jewel in the center.

And finally, Evening Evergreen

This color is going to be FABULOUS for Christmas cards!

Evening Evergreen: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (embossed with the Evergreen Forest 3D Folder)
Soft Succulent card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″

These 2 new green colors go beautifully together and will work perfectly for cards all year long!

Oh, and did you notice the fabulous ribbon that comes in all of the new colors? I love it!!

There are plenty of colors to choose from, so pick YOUR favorites.

I hope at least one of these 5 cards will inspire you to go make a card and send it to a friend.

Happy Stamping!
