Have you ever tried to dry emboss dark card stock using a light table? It is almost impossible to see through dark heavy card stock! Here’s a great technique for dry embossing on dark card stock:

1. Stamp an image onto the card stock. For the sample shown here I used the swirl from Season of Joy. You want to select a detail image will look good even if you don’t get all the details just right.

2. Lay the card stock on a foam pad with the stamped image face up. Cover the card stock with wax paper. This will allow your stylus to glide smoothly and avoid tearing.

3. Trace over the image with a stylus.

4. Turn the stamped image over. Sand the raised image gently with a sanding block to make the image stand out more.
