It’s Sneak Peek time! Items from the NEW Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog will be available on Tuesday, January 6th, but I’ve got some sneak peeks for you!
First up is a birthday card that uses the new Balloon Bash stamp set and Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love the colors and patterns that come in this paper pack so you are going to see a lot of them in upcoming months! Five of the designs are double-sided and two are single-sided with embossed gold details. FUN!
Tangelo Twist card base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”
Night of Navy: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
Confetti paper: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Tips for Making this Card:
- Ribbon across your card adds texture and dimension without the bulkiness of a knot or bow. If you don’t have the right color ribbon, you could use a 3/8″ wide strip of card stock instead.
- It’s not so easy to wrap the ends of your ribbon just around a piece of designer series paper. You may want to tape your patterned paper to the card stock mat to give it more strength and less give, then wrap your ribbon around and tape the ends to the back.
- Use a shaped framelit to cut out your greeting. Back in the day when I was just starting to make cards, everything was cut into squares and rectangles. Basically the straight lines that I could cut with my paper cutter. Shaped punches and framelits make a faster & easier card! Now I stamp, find a punch or framelit that fits around my image or greeting, punch and go.
- Stampin’ Dimensionals are the easiest way to upgrade your card with little effort. I rarely make a card without them because they give the main focal point of your card that extra little pop.
Remember that NEW items (the stamp set and designer series paper) will not be available until January 6th. Start your shopping wish list now!
