I’m not a party person and about the only day I don’t wish for a chance to take a cruise or visit Ireland or have a room (or whole house) makeover or be with family & friends is actually ON my birthday. I’m not a bah-humbug type of person, but years ago I started a tradition of renting a place at the beach for a couple of days, taking my reading and stamping materials, and just doing what I want to do without the everyday hassle of phone calls, work and “gotta do it”s in the back of my mind. I plan for a couple of weeks and my family has grown used to my escape. I suggested they find something to do together while I’m gone and it’s become a tradition for them to celebrate my birthday that way, too. We usually celebrate with dinner out after our returns and exchange info about our separate experiences. Great fun!!! There’s no law you have to celebrate on the day you were born. We try to celebrate every day.
