Thank you so much for being a part of my online birthday party this past weekend! The prize winners were posted on the birthday prize blog post yesterday.

It was so fun to read about what you all would like to do to celebrate your next birthday!! Some were as simple as spending time with family or hoping you got a card and some of you really dreamed big with lots of fun travel ideas. May your next birthday be as blessed as mine was!

After all the gifts are unwrapped thank you cards should be sent. They seem to be a lost art but it really is still a good idea to write and send an actual thank you card to let people know that you appreciate what they spent the time to get you.

So here’s a birthday thank you card…

Berry Burst card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Lemon Lime Twist: 1″ x 4-1/2″
Foil Frenzy Lime Polka Dot Paper: 1/2″ x 5″
Circle Size: 2-7/8″

Like most cards, the colors on this one look so much better in person than they do on your screen!

This card started from paper scraps. Really, it all started with that Lemon Lime Twist 1″ wide strip! I had made a bunch of Tulip cards (which I thought I already shared with you, but apparently not so they’ll be coming soon) and had a bunch of Lemon Lime Twist 1″x5″ strips left. I threw them in my scrap drawer but since I had a lot of them I thought I should use them for something!!

A little pretty paper goes a long way. The new Foil Frenzy paper is so fun!! It’s got a Kraft base and the designs are colorful and shiny. I picked the lime polka dots to go with my Lemon Lime Twist paper and cut it down into 1/2″ strips so that it would make a lot of cards.

The ends are banner cut so it doesn’t matter that my paper strips aren’t the same length. Fun, right? If you need tips on how to cut your banner ends, watch this episode of Ink It Up with Jessica TV.

Because I love bright colors I chose the new Berry Burst for my card base and greeting. I think this color combo is a winner!

Today I challenge you to make & send a thank you card. It doesn’t have to be for a gift if you haven’t gotten one lately but there is ALWAYS something and someone to be thankful for.

Happy Stamping!
