The colors of this cardinal card give it a Christmasy feel but you could make something similar to send to your cardinal loving friends any time of the year!

Paper Sizes:
Whisper White: 2-5/8″ x 4″
Shaded Spruce: 3″ x 4-3/8″
Plaid paper: (2) 1/2″ x 5-1/2″
Cherry Cobbler card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″

I stamped the cardinal in Cherry Cobbler ink and then went over it with the Wink of Stella glitter brush. You don’t even need to add more ink! SO easy to do and it adds just the right amount of color and shimmer.

For the white background piece, I stamped FIRST and then embossed with the Subtle 3-D embossing folder to add a little texture. It’s amazing how much that little bit of texture adds to the look of the card.

How do you get stitching on your cards like that?

It’s the Stitched Rectangle Dies! These dies do the cutting and stitching all at one time. It’s like magic!! I love tools like these that make my cards look like they were so much more work to make than they actually were.

Ever wonder what to do with those extra little strips of patterned paper you have?

Don’t throw them away! They make a great little accent on your cards.

Okay, now it’s your turn. Take some of the tips you learned in this post and go make a card. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Be sure to take a picture and share it with us during our Sunday night Show & Tell on my Facebook page.

Happy Stamping!
