Back to School Already?!? Great Gifts for Teachers

By | 3-D Items, Gift Ideas | 5 Comments

Here in Wisconsin school doesn’t start until September but I’ve been seeing Back to School sales since June! While I definitely don’t want to think about it that far in advance I did do some planning last week and it reminded me that I have a great idea to share with you. These notepad covers for junior legal size pads make great gifts for teachers. They’ve got a pocket inside to keep any loose papers or receipts handy… or to stick an extra gift card in. Teachers love gift cards!! No kids going back to school? That’s okay! Start making…

Personalized Gift Tags

It’s all in the packaging. Some pretty ribbon and a personalized gift tag go a long way to pretty up a package. These are the gifts that I gave demonstrators on my team when we attended Stampin’ Up! events across the country recently. Included are a “Hoping Your Day is Perfect” card made with a VersaMark background, a VersaMark ink pad and a list of 5 VersaMark techniques. Autumn Jar

Autumn Jar

By | 3-D Items, Gift Ideas, Home Decor | No Comments

Confession: This autumn jar project was an excuse to make this yummy fall snack mix that I have no business eating. There is just something so yummy about eating candy corn (otherwise known as pure sugar) along with peanuts. The salty, the sweet… I just can’t resist! So of course I had to create something pretty to hold the mix that I could photograph and share with you thus making the buying of candy corn a necessity. Thank you, thank you very much. This jar was very easy to decorate. I cut a piece of patterned paper 4″ x 12″, cut…

Go Wild with Bookmarks!

One thing I love about my oldest daughter is that when she gets an idea she makes a plan and she runs with it. She is an animal lover and in the last 2 years has raised her own money to adopt a whale and a sea turtle through the Pacific Whale Foundation. She sold cards made with a whale stamp to adopt the whale and made mini turtle cheesecakes to sell for the sea turtle. Yes, I have a little entrepreneur on my hands. So imagine her delight when earlier this week she found the World Wildlife website and an…

How to Make an Envelope into a Bag!

By | 3-D Items, Kids | No Comments

When I first started stamping back in 1998, one of the first things I learned how to make was an envelope bag. Otherwise known as a Bag-a-lope. Those cute little bags in the photo above? Those were both made from a single business envelope. That’s right, a regular old security nothing-pretty-about-it business envelope. There’s just something about turning something so basic and dare I say ugly into something fun like a little gift bag. And really “Bag-a-lope” is just a fun word to say. Go ahead and try to say it 5 times fast. Here’s a view from the top… The possibilities…
