Summer is in full swing here and one of our favorite things to do is stop by our local ice cream shop for a scoop or two on a hot day.

Today I have 2 ice cream cone cards for you with tips for making them… you choose whether you want 2 scoops or 3. (No calories involved so have as many as you’d like!)

On the first card, I added a “Happy Birthday” but you could replace that with any other sentiment or leave it off altogether to make an ice cream cone card for any occasion.

Gorgeous Grape card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4″
White: 2-1/8” x 3-1/2″
Patterned Paper: 3″ x 4-1/4″
Melon Mambo: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
Gorgeous Grape: 3/8″ x 2-1/4″

Card Making Tips:

  • Stamp your image off on scratch paper first before stamping on your card stock if you want a lighter color. That’s what I did with my Gorgeous Grape ink on the top scoop of this card. I like how it ended with a grainy textured look. It doesn’t always have that effect, but I like it!
  • Add some Wink of Stella to give your ice cream a little extra shimmer and shine! It’s hard to see in the photo but I promise you the ice cream on this card looks good enough to eat!
  • Emboss your greeting in white powder on colored card stock. This is one current trend that I love! It really makes the greeting POP. Banner cut one end of your greeting strip or use your favorite punch or die to cut your greeting out.

Melon Mambo card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4″
White: 2-1/8” x 3-1/2″ (stitched rectangle die)
Patterned Paper: 3″ x 4-1/4″

Gorgeous Grape: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″

Card Making Tips:

  • Cut your main white piece out with a stitched rectangle die to give it a little extra detail… and avoid measuring!
  • Decide on how many scoops of ice cream you’ll add BEFORE you stamp the cone so that you can center it all properly. I really do love that you can stack those scoops up as high as you’d like.
  • Add some sprinkles on top! Because who doesn’t love a few sprinkles.
  • Of course, you can add any of your other favorite embellishments too.

Happy Stamping!
