These cute little elephant baby cards were make-n-takes at a recent stamping event that I went to.

I love that they both use my favorite color – Coastal Cabana! You can see from these cards that it’s a good color to use for a baby boy or a baby girl!

Dimensions:
Whisper White: 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
Basic Gray: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ and 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
Coastal Cabana: 4″ x 5-1/4″

Tips for Making This Card:

  • Add a flower “barrette” to turn the elephant into a girl! The rhinestone in the center adds just a little bling to the card.
  • Two easy ways to use ribbon: Lay a piece of ribbon across a piece of card stock and tape the ends to the back. This is a great way to keep your cards flat and easy to mail. The second ribbon accent is a small piece tied in a knot and attached with a glue dot. I added that piece later because my card had a dirty smudged spot on it – the ribbon knot covered it right up!

 Dimensions:
Polka Dot Paper: 3″ x 4″
Whisper White: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Smoky Slate: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″

Tips for Making This Card:

  • The sides were cut off a scalloped circle to create the main image piece for this card! It’s actually easier if you cut the paper to the width you want first and then cut the circle.
  • Use your Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure you get the bird sitting on top of the elephant instead of hovering too high or sitting on it’s side.
  • Layer your punches! The Word Window punch fits perfectly on top of the Modern Label punch but there are endless ways to layer the punches that you already have at home. Experiment with it!!

Happy Stamping!
