One thing I love about my oldest daughter is that when she gets an idea she makes a plan and she runs with it. She is an animal lover and in the last 2 years has raised her own money to adopt a whale and a sea turtle through the Pacific Whale Foundation. She sold cards made with a whale stamp to adopt the whale and made mini turtle cheesecakes to sell for the sea turtle. Yes, I have a little entrepreneur on my hands.
So imagine her delight when earlier this week she found the World Wildlife website and an entire list of animals that she could adopt! After days of thinking it over, this morning she decided to adopt an amur leopard and asked if I had any ideas on what she could make and sell. My first thought when I heard leopard was spots and then I remembered that I had a pack of the Go Wild Designer Series Paper so I handed it over. She flipped through the pack, her eyes got big and then she disappeared… only to appear a little later with these fabulous bookmarks!
I don’t know about you, but we are avid readers at our house and we never have enough bookmarks! These were pretty easy to make, just cut a 2″ strip of card stock and make the top pretty with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. The animal print pattern is cut to 1-1/2″ x 4-1/2″. You’ll notice that she sponged ink around the edges of the greeting circles & square to make them pop.
My daughter said when she cut the strips of paper for the bookmarks on the left she was left with a square that she then used on the bookmark on the right. She’ll be able to make 2 more bookmarks for a total of 6 bookmarks from one sheet of 6×6 paper. Sounds like a One Sheet Wonder to me!
Go ahead, make some bookmarks for yourself or to give away. They are super quick & easy to make plus they may just help you use up some of those paper scraps you’ve been saving.
