I’m not a big Halloween fan and I don’t usually make Halloween cards, but when I got my September 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit from Stampin’ Up! I just couldn’t resist playing with the fun things inside!

Paper Pumpkin Kits are great for on the go or when you like to have everything you need for a project all in the same box.

The kits do come with instructions, but I’m not very good at following instructions so I usually do my own thing.

The first thing I look at in the kit is the exclusive stamp set and this Halloween one did not disappoint. I knew as soon as I saw it that it was going to make some fabulous backgrounds for cards!

In the video I’ll show you 3 different ways to stamp your own background paper with Halloween stamps… but of course you can use these techniques with ANY stamps that you have for ANY occasion!

Here’s a closer look at the Halloween cards I made…Whisper White: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Basic Gray: 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
Pumpkin Pie: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″

Quick tip: When stamping a word stamp over and over for your background, use a strip of card stock to keep your lines straight.

Whisper White: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Gorgeous Grape: 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
Card base: Silver Foil-Edged Cards & Envelopes

Quick Tips: Stamp the pumpkins in triangles and rotate your stamp a bit to add interest, then fill in some of the blank spots with the words.

Gorgeous Grape: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Card base: Silver Foil-Edged Cards & Envelopes

Quick Tip: The VersaMark ink pad is like MAGIC! It’s a watermark ink that changes to the color of whatever color card stock you are stamping on.

Go ahead, grab some stamps and try stamping your own background for your next card.

Happy Stamping!
