Happy Birthday to my mother-in-law Dolores Taylor today! Some of the family showed up for Saturday dinner at her place as a surprise and we had a fabulous time. Most were smart enough to head home on Saturday night, but as a little bonus surprise our overnight visit turned into a weekend stay. We got snowed/iced in and just made it home this morning. The girls had a great time and I had a chance to organize her stamping supplies.
Dolores loves lilacs, so I made this little gift ensemble for her using the Blossoms Abound stamp set.
This is a Two-Step stamp set, so I stamped the background lilac stamp in Pale Plum and the detail lilac stamp over top in Perfect Plum. The leaves were all stamped in Mellow Moss. I stamped the detail vine first in full strength Mellow Moss and then stamped off on scratch paper first for the leaves. All the stamps were lined up using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, of course. I really don’t know how I ever stamped without it!
For the candle I stamped the lilacs on Confetti White card stock because I needed a 12″ piece to wrap around the candle and that’s the neutral color I had.
I used sticky strip to tape the Confetti card stock to the Perfect Plum card stock. I wrapped the card stock strip around the candle and then used another piece of sticky strip to attach the ends of the card stock together.
The card base is Pale Plum card stock. The lilacs were stamped on Naturals Ivory card stock. I sponged the edges and a little of the bare space with Pale Plum ink. That’s layered on a piece of Perfect Plum card stock. The Thank you stamp is from the Artfully Asian stamp set and is stamped in Perfect Plum.
To package the 10 cards I made, I put them in a plastic card box.
I’m hoping this SPRING gift ensemble will inspire you and take your thoughts off this snowy, icy, frigid weather we are having. Go pull out your flower stamps and stamp something springy!!
