What is a Hybrid Embossing Folder?
It’s an embossing folder that has a coordinating die or dies so that you can cut AND emboss at the same time!
In this video, I’m going to give you some quick tips for using Hybrid Embossing Folders:
The combo I used in the video is the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder and it comes with a 3D embossing folder and a set of 7 dies.
You can get just the folder and dies together or grab the Sweet Citrus Bundle to get the coordinating stamp set too and save 10%.
Embossed Background:
One way you can use this is just as an embossing folder to add an embossed design to your card stock.
Since it’s a 3D folder you’ll use a sandwich of Base Plate 1 – Embossing Folder – Plate 4 with your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
Embossed Pieces:
You can also use the embossing folder with a die to CUT + EMBOSS at the same time!
- The die will fit ONE way in your embossing folder with the ridged side of the die UP. Then insert your paper on top and close the folder.
- Use the same sandwich as just the folder. Base Plate 1 – Embossing Folder – Plate 4 with your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
- TIP: Run it through your machine TWICE or use a shim to get a good cut if your paper doesn’t cut all the way through.
Die Cut Stamped Images:
The dies can be used on their own or to cut out stamped images from the Sweet Citrus stamp set.
The sandwich you’ll use with JUST the dies is Base Plate 1 – Plate 2 – Plate 3 – paper – die with the ridged side down – Plate 3
If you have a Big Shot machine, watch this Big Shot embossing folder tutorial so you know what sandwich to use with 3D embossing folders like the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder.
I hope these tips helped you, but if you still have any questions about how to use Hybrid Embossing Folders please let me know.
Happy Stamping!
