One of the perks of making your own greeting cards is that you can get creative with how you fold them.

The Joy Fold Card is a fun fold that has a smaller card that opens to the right and a flap that opens to the left…

Tips for Making a Joy Fold Card:

  • You’ll need TWO card “bases” for this type of fun fold card:
    4-1/4” x 8-1/4” scored at 5-1/2” and
    3-1/4” x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4”
  • For the two cards shared in this post, I embossed the front flap on the large card base. You could also cut a piece of patterned paper to put there or stamp your own design if you’d like.
  • OPEN your large card base up to make it easier to tape your closed smaller card in the center. (Make sure it opens to the right!)
  • 3″ x 4″ pieces of patterned paper are my favorite because you can get 12 of them from ONE 12″ x 12″ piece of designer series paper. (Check out this post for tips & more ideas on how to use them) They fit perfectly on the front of these Joy fold cards.
  • Add a greeting and embellish to your heart’s content!
