Here’s an idea I’ve been sharing at my Stampin’ Up! workshops for years… how to make your own card stock Easter Baskets! They are super easy to make and you can decorate them from fun to elegant and anywhere in between.
Instructions:
- Start with a 6″x6″ piece of card stock and score each side at 2″.
- On two of the opposite sides, cut in on the two vertical score lines up to the first horizontal score line.
- Round all four corners. (1-1/4″ Circle punch was used for baskets shown.)
- Decorate card stock square and 1″ x 8-1/2″ strip of card stock for handle with stamps and ink. You can also use the Delicate Details Lace Tape for the handle.
- Bring the sides of the basket together, tuck the end of the handle between the middle flap and the two outside flaps and secure in place with a brad. (You could also use a strong adhesive here like sticky strip, but brads are the quickest and easiest!) Repeat on other side.
If that was Greek to you, watch the video below to SEE how to make them!

Thank you! Just made 5 of these and they are so cute!
Adorable baskets. Your instructions and video are very clear. Thanks for sharing the directions and providing such lovely inspiration. I look forward to making some of my own. Happy Easter!
Have you tried to make different sizes? Like could this be made with a 12×12 paper? or would the worry be that the weight of adding anything to it would be too much?
Yes, I’ve made baskets with 12×12 paper as well. You’ll want to use a heavier card stock and be careful not to put anything too heavy in it.
I know this is an old post. Could you tell me the measurements to make this with 12×12 paper? Thanks
Hi Diane, To make a larger basket with 12×12 paper I would score at 4″ from each side and you may want to make the handle a little wider.
What a cute and easy basket to make! Thank you
Thank you. You saved my life!!!
Comment Gracias, me encanto el tipo de cesta y lo fácil de hacer y no hay pérdida de material

Hi Jessica,
I love this idea for an Easter basket!! I am going to make some for the Sunday School kids at our Church for Easter. I plan to put a few pieces of candy, maybe gum in them too. I might also make one for my new Great-Granddaughter too, and put her a small toy, or something in it.
Susan, All the kids will love that you took the time to do that for them. I’m so glad you loved this idea.
These are the cutest baskets, and the video helped for sure. Happy Easter to you and yours, Jessica. Thank you.
