My husband has a few tips for the cards you make for the men in your life
- Keep them simple
- Use geometric shapes
- No froufrou
Now maybe the men in your life like froufrou but for me these tips have proven very helpful when it comes time to make masculine cards.
Gray Granite card base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4″
Blueberry Bushel: 4” x 5-1/4”
Mango Melody: 3-3/4” x 5”
Circle Size: 2-3/8″
Take this birthday card for example. It’s simple and I used basic geometric shapes.
While there’s no froufrou, I did use a partial embossing technique with my Big Shot.
Take a closer look…
That Mango Melody card stock is all one piece. I just slid the bottom part of it into the Maps, Etc. embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot. The patterned paper covers the “seam” so it doesn’t even matter if you get your embossing perfectly straight.
Partial Paper Embossing:
Just put the part of the paper you want to be embossed into your embossing folder and run through your Big Shot as usual!
Go ahead, grab a piece of paper and your favorite embossing folder and give it a try.
