Mini Die-Cutting Machines: Are they worth it?

In this video, I share the pros and cons of Stampin’ Up!’s Mini Cut & Emboss Machine.

Now, I am a HUGE fan of die-cutting and embossing so I definitely recommend getting some kind of machine if you want to step up your cards.

Pros and Cons of going with a Mini Machine

Pros:

  • It’s small (and adorable!!!!) and folds up so it doesn’t take up much space.
  • It’s small and light so it’s easy to take with you to crops and craft retreats.
  • It’s also much less expensive and half the price of the larger Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Cons:

  • It’s so lightweight that it can move around on you a lot. Clean off the feet to make the mini machine stay in place better and push straight down on the top handle as your crank your sandwich through.
  • Not all embossing folders and dies will fit. I’m a HUGE fan of embossing folders and I want them ALL so this is a deal-breaker for me. Of course, if you already have a large machine at home, you might just want to get the mini machine for smaller projects or to take on the go.

Here are embossing folders that WILL fit in the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine:

Is the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine right for YOU?

If you want to be able to use ALL dies and embossing folders, I’d recommend you go with the full-size Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

If you’re on a tight budget or limited on space, are okay with just a few embossing folder options, or want a small machine to take on the go then the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is the right choice for you.

It comes with all the plates you need to use mini embossing folders and dies less than 3-3/8″ wide.
