I love pretty papers and the new Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper pack does not disappoint. It’s got some gorgeous florals, a winter mix and basic patterns to use for any occasion.
Thankfully each piece of paper is double-sided with a different design on each side because there is one design I do not like at all. Just not getting the mushrooms!! But the other side is a basic pattern that I’ll be able to use over and over.
I needed a stack of thank you cards quick so I pulled out my trusty 3×4 Quick Cards Technique so that I could quickly make 12 cards out of ONE sheet of pretty paper. Once I started I couldn’t stop! Here are a few of the cards I made with the different patterns in the Painted Seasons Series Paper pack…
Pool Party card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Lemon Lime Twist: 4″ x 5-1/4″ embossed with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder
Floral paper: 3″ x 4″
Pool Party mat: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″
Early Espresso card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Petal Pink: 4″ x 5-1/4″ embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder
Floral paper: 3″ x 4″
Early Espresso mat: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″
Early Espresso: 1/2″ x 4″
I actually thought this design would make a good Christmas card as well…
Early Espresso card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Wood Textures Paper: 4″ x 5-1/4″
Pine paper: 3″ x 4″
Early Espresso mat: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″
Early Espresso: 1/2″ x 4″
Tips for making these Quick Cards:
- Watch this video for tips on cutting your pretty paper. You can make 12 cards out of ONE sheet of 12×12 pretty paper!
- Pick a color from the pretty paper and use that color card stock for your mat and card base
- If you don’t have the right color ribbon, use a 1/2″ wide strip of card stock instead. It’s not always needed but it does add a nice touch!
- Emboss your background card stock (use another color card stock that’s in your pretty paper) OR use another piece of designer paper! I really like how the woodgrain looks on my wintery card above but you could also use one of the other patterns from the same pack instead of embossing the card stock.
- Use a label punch or die on your greeting to give it a fun shape that pops out against your pretty paper and use Stampin’ Dimensionals to make it stand out a little more.
- If your pretty paper has a lot of white in it you might want to add an extra layer of colored card stock behind your label to make it pop even more. Punch or cut out the same shape then cut it in half to create a shadow effect behind your white label.
Now go grab a piece of pretty paper and make some cards.
Happy Stamping!

I really like the ease of making these cards and that they are so pretty!!
how did you layer the label punch. I love the card.
Sheri, I just punched an Early Espresso label out, cut it in half horizontally and taped the two pieces so they outlined the white label above & below. The strip of Early Espresso across the card makes it look like the white label is fully outlined. Hope that helps!
Hi Jessica. I was wondering how you chose an embossing folder when making a card?
