When I first saw the 2020 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog, one of the first things I had to have right away was the Peace & Joy bundle… and then it took me 5 months to use it!!!

Does that ever happen to you?

You order something that you MUST have and then you get it and you forgot what you were so excited to do with it? It happens to me more than I’d like to admit.

Once I pulled these stamps and dies out though, I quickly remembered why I thought they were going to be so fun.

Whisper White card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Night of Navy: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (embossed with the Dainty Diamonds folder)
Star paper: 2″ x 4″
Circle Size: 2-3/8″

The Joy die set has 3 dies for each of the words (Peace, Joy, Bright) that you can use to layer. For the detailed “Joy” I used Copper Foil Paper and for the background, I used Night of Navy card stock.

I love how it POPS!

“To the World” is stamped in Night of Navy ink on Whisper White card stock and then I just cut it out with my Paper Snips.

Whisper White card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Night of Navy: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder)
Star paper: 2″ x 4″
Oval Size: 2-3/8″ x 3-3/8″

Watch the video below to see step by step how to make these cards!

In the video, I mention that I store my dies on Magnet Sheets from Stamp n Storage. Here are the ones I use: https://www.stampnstorage.com/6×7-magnet-cards/#a_aid=inkitup

Tips for Making Peace & Joy DIY Holiday Cards:

  • Put your Copper Foil Sheet (or whatever card stock or paper you’re using) on an Adhesive Sheet BEFORE you cut out the words. That makes it so much easier to adhere the cut-out word onto your card. You can do the same thing with the Night of Navy background when you cut it out.
  • Using an embossing folder is a quick & easy way to add texture and interest to your card stock! By switching up the embossing folder design that you use, you can even give the same basic card a very different look.
  • Stitched Shape dies cut a shape AND add the stitching all at the same time! These are my most used dies for card making.
  • If you’re using 12×12 patterned papers, 2″ x 4″ pieces will give you a lot of bang for your buck. You can make 18 cards out of ONE sheet of 12×12 patterned paper! Cut your paper into three 4″ strips and then cut each of those strips into size 2″ pieces.
