Do you love pretty papers? They make it so fast & easy to make beautiful cards! Take a peek at this beautiful Thinking of You card that was super quick to make…
Can you believe this card is just a quick cut of a pretty paper with a greeting & ribbon added? That’s it! So quick and easy to put together but so appreciated by the person that you send it to.
The Petal Garden Paper is 6×6 so just cut 1/2″ off the top and 2″ off the side to end up with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ floral piece to put on the front of your card. Since I used a dark color card base I also cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White card stock for the inside of the card. Much easier to write on!
The greeting is stamped on a thin strip of white card stock – a great reason to keep all those extra paper scraps! I love to use them for the greetings on my card. This one just goes straight across the bottom but I often like to give mine a banner cut at one end.
Here’s a little ribbon trick: The 1/8″ sheer ribbon is gorgeous but I have a hard time wrapping it around and tying it in a knot that lays nicely. So I actually use TWO pieces of ribbon to get the look on this card. The first piece is laid flat across the paper and the ends are taped to the back of the pretty paper. Then slide another piece of ribbon underneath it and tie it in a knot around it. Voila! Your knot lays flat and you actually use a bit less ribbon.
One thing I love about Stampin’ Up!’s pretty papers is that they tell you EXACTLY what colors coordinate with it. That makes it even easier to use. However you can always go renegade and use whatever colors you like. Fresh Fig isn’t actually a color they mention with this paper but it was the first color I thought of when I saw these flowers.
