When it comes to buying new craft supplies, just give me ALL the pretty paper.

Is that you too?

Today I’ve got 2 quick & easy birthday cards that you can make with any of the pretty patterned papers that you have in your stash.

Soft Sea Foam card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
Floral Paper: 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″
Lovely Lipstick: 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″
Oval Size: 1-1/2″ x 2-1/2″

For this first one I used the Layering Oval Dies to cut out my greeting. I love shaped dies just for that purpose.

If you don’t have a die-cutting machine, the next version of this card uses a shaped punch for the greeting instead.

Soft Sea Foam card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
Floral Paper: 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″
Lovely Lipstick: 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ and 1″ x 3-1/2″

I find it easiest to stamp my words first, then turn my punch upside down, center my stamped greeting and punch it out. Since I didn’t have the exact shape in a layering size, I chose to highlight it by putting a strip of solid card stock behind it to make it stand out.

Grab any piece of pretty paper you have and make it into a few cards like these!

Happy Stamping!
