In this video, I’m going to show you how to make cards with a scalloped die and patterned paper.

Scalloped Die Card Making Tips:

  • For these cards I used the largest die from Stampin’ Up!’s Scalloped Contours dies but you could try it with any die! I’ve also done something similar with a circle die.
  • I find it easiest to use a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White card stock because it makes lining up the die easy but if you can cut your piece larger if you find it hard to center your die perfectly.
  • The patterned paper pieces I used are 3-3/4” x 4” but you may want to make your piece a bit shorter if you have a taller greeting stamp.
  • Tape the patterned paper piece to the very bottom of the white piece. The straighter you can get your patterned paper now, the straighter it will be on your card.
  • To die cut with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine use Platform 1 – 2- clear plate – paper – die – clear plate. You can use post-it note tape or washi tape to hold your die in place if you’re worried about it shifting.
  • Depending on your machine, you may have to run it through twice to get a good cut.
  • Use the Take-Your Pick tool to poke out any pieces from the center of the scallops.
  • Stamp your greeting
  • Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to your card front
  • Add embellishments if desired.
  • Use another scalloped piece to decorate the inside! You can add a strip of patterned paper before you die cut it and/or stamp a greeting. Watch the video above to see what I did on the inside of these cards.

Easy peasy and so elegant!
