When it comes to sending out cards, the ones I like to send best are the ones that are unexpected and don’t need to be mailed on a certain date. I love sending birthday cards, but they are often late, and sometimes sending out a bazillion Christmas cards can be overwhelming.
That’s why Thinking of You cards are the best! You can literally send them out whenever you want to and they are never late!!
Calypso Coral card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Whisper White: 4″ x 5-1/4″
Floral paper: 3″ x 4″
Calypso Coral: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″
There are so many fun things I want to tell you about this card!
First, this is one of my favorite card layouts because you can cut your 12×12 pretty paper up into TWELVE 3″x4″ pieces with no waste. Check out other ways you can use those 3″x4″ pieces here.
Second, I used my favorite new stamp set from the NEW 2019-2020 annual Stampin’ Up! catalog. (If you don’t have a copy yet you can request one here.)
The Seaside Notions stamp set combines beach images (you know how I love everything beachy!!!!!) and a few great greetings in a fun mix of fonts.
I’ve already made 20+ different cards with this set, some of which I’ll be sharing with you soon! (The rest I’ll be sharing with my One Sheet Wonder Club. The club is closed to new members right now but you can get on the wait list here.)
The third thing I love about this card is the subtly embossed background. I used the new Scripty 3-D embossing folder and if you’ve ordered a 3-D embossing folder since the new catalog came out you’ll notice that they are thinner than the old 3-D folders. That means you need the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate to add to your sandwich for a good deep embossed impression.
But do you really need it? That’s something I’ll be exploring soon as my new plate is on it’s way. In the meantime, for this card I just added 4 half sheets of card stock to my embossing sandwich to act as a shim and it gave me a really lightly embossed look that I adore.
You can make a card like this in minutes (no background embossing required!) so go grab a piece of pretty paper and make a thinking of you card to send to a friend.
